S3 EP3 Compassionate Mental Health Awareness: Eating Disorders w/ Dr. Christina Castagnini

Dr. Grace Hameister Season 3 Episode 3

It's May: Mental Health Awareness month.

As I was preparing to release this episode, another tragic event occurred here in the US that shook me to the core: 19 kids and 2 adults were shot and killed in an elementary school in Texas.  The 2nd of the worst moments in our history where a shooter took the lives of innocent people.

This is a crisis of epic proportions: the mental health crisis in the US - not to mention the  legal/congressional crisis we face as our government figureheads refuse to change laws to protect our safety, and the safety of our children.

I had to acknowledge this tragedy, and open my heart and soul to the families devastated from this unfathomable act.

...and so is the gracious transition to the topic at hand in honor of Mental Health Awareness month in this episode: eating disorders, with Dr. Christina Castagnini, Ph.D., CEDS.

Dr. Christina is a licensed psychologist and is recognized as a certified Eating Disorder Specialist by the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (IAEDP).
She left her stable 15 year career at a hospital working as the lead eating disorder specialist for their mental health department so she could try to do more to help those who have
eating disorders and body image issues.
